The Colorado Railroad Museum’s popular topical lecture series, Rails & Cocktails, returns with a diverse schedule of talented presenters. Additional programs include Behind-the-Scenes Tours and other unique experience opportunities.

An Evening of Colorado History – Relax, enjoy a beverage and travel back to a time when railroads shaped the American West.
7:00pm Select Fridays
Admission: $20 ages 21+ only. Admission includes 2 beverages of your choice: beer, wine or soda and snacks. Doors open at 6 PM for early enjoyment of Museum displays and the presentation starts promptly at 7 PM. Presentation length varies by event and the doors close at 9:00PM. Minimum Age: 21

Rails and Cocktails: Scenic Trips and Picnics: Train Tourism in the Rockies
On Friday, August 1, join historian and professor Dr. Meg Frisbee for her presentation, Scenic Trips and Picnics: Train Tourism in the Rockies. Dr. Frisbee will explore how railroads helped turn the Rockies into a sought-after destination for adventure and relaxation. Through stories, images, and historical insights, she will reveal how train travel shaped the way people experienced Colorado and helped define the American West as a place for leisure and escape.

Each Friday, the Museum offers two traditional walking tours. The Highlight Tour acts as a wonderful introduction to the Museum, its collections and the railroads impact on Colorado’s history.
Visitors can also join us for the afternoon tour where each week our trained guides delve more deeply into a different aspect of Colorado’s railroad history.
