SPRING BREAK: MODEL RAILROADS

Join us as we explore all things model railroads all week long!  Hands-on activities, model railroad demonstrations, stories as well as fun make & takes – all themed around model railroading!

Activities include:
• Ask the Expert by Caboose
• Denver HO Model Railroad Club & Scavenger Hunt
• Denver Garden Railway Society
• Operation Lifesaver
• Story time at 11 am in the library
• Historic model railcars from the permanent collection in the library

Enjoy a different Guest Modeler/theme each day:
• Monday – Thomas
• Tuesday – Museum of Miniatures, Dolls & Toys
• Wednesday – Colorado Model Railroad Museum
• Thursday – Denver HO Model Railroad Club demonstration/Pop Up Museum
• Friday – Lego Trains Demonstration

Enjoy a different craft each day:
• Monday – make a Thomas, Percy, Spencer
• Tuesday – make a Matchbox train
• Wednesday – create a Cookie Train Landscape
• Thursday – create a Wooden Locomotive
• Friday – build a Lego locomotive

Catch an optional ride behind one of the Museum’s historic “Gallopin’ Goose” Motorcars.

Admission: $10 Adults, $5 Children (2-15), $8 Seniors (60+). Museum Members and Children under 2 are free.
Ride Tickets: $4 Adults (16+), $2 Children (2-15). Museum members receive $1 discount per ticket. Children under 2 are free on a ticketed parent’s lap.

CUB SCOUT DAY

Saturday, October 19 (reservation required by Monday October 15, 2019)

Cub Scouts will enjoy a variety of activities that complement their Arrows of Light Adventures including: participating in the flag ceremony, trying their hand at geocaching, exploring tools used on the railroad, identifying the rocks and minerals used by trains, meeting an engineer, working with a telegraph, learning a traditional RR song and more.

Registration Fee: $15 per participant, adult leaders free. Register online here.

BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA RAILROADING BADGE ACTIVITY WORKBOOK

Boy Scouts are invited to complete the Boy Scout Railroading Badge Activity Workbook. After completing the workbook contact your Badge Counselor.
