Join Executive Director, Paul Hammond as he shares some of his favorite children’s stories with a decidedly railroad theme followed by a fun make and take.

Your family is invited to join the Museum for a week of special hands-on activities focusing on the railroad’s role in settling Colorado.

• Tuesday: Photographing the West
• Wednesday: Laying Track and Creating Towns
• Thursday: Seeing the Sights
• Friday: Who Came?
Catch an optional ride behind one of the Museum’s historic “Galloping Goose” Motorcars.
Admission: $10 Adults, $5 Children (2-17), $8 Seniors (60+). Museum Members, children under 2 and active military personnel are free.
Ride Tickets: $4 Adults (18+), $2 Children (2-17). Museum members and children under 2 are free.
This diorama shows a typical telegraph office that could be found at a train depot in the early 20th century. It comes with a working “sounder” encouraging visitors to decode and send messages coming over the wire.

Spend Thursdays at the Colorado Railroad Museum this summer as we celebrate all things railroad! Each week, participants explore railroad related crafts and demonstrations. Topics explored include the nuts and bolts of how trains work to more imaginative themes like steampunk. Bring your kids, grandkids and friends to learn about all things railroads!

Recommended ages 6-10 years old (with an adult). Included with general admission.
Admission: $10 Adults, $5 Children (2-15), $8 Seniors (60+). Museum Members and Children under 2 are free.
Ride Tickets: $4 Adults (16+), $2 Children (2-15). Museum members receive $1 discount per ticket. Children under 2 are free on a ticketed parent’s lap.
CUB SCOUT DAY
Saturday, October 19 (reservation required by Monday October 14, 2019)
Cub Scouts will enjoy a variety of activities that complement their Arrows of Light Adventures including: participating in the flag ceremony, trying their hand at geocaching, exploring tools used on the railroad, identifying the rocks and minerals used by trains, meeting an engineer, working with a telegraph, learning a traditional RR song and more.
