The familiar whistle has always promised adventure. The gentle rock of the rails has set the rhythm of our lives. Experience it all again at the Colorado Railroad Museum.
Stroll the Museum’s 15-acre railyard with over 100 locomotives, passenger and freight cars, cabooses and even a G-scale garden railway. Watch as Colorado railroad history is brought back to life in our Roundhouse restoration facility with a working, hand-operated turntable. Visit the 1880s-replica Depot Museum building housing changing exhibits, along with the Denver HO Model Railroad Club’s operating model layout replicating the various types of Colorado mountain railroading. And finally, take home a memory from our Depot Store featuring thousands of train gifts for every rail enthusiast.
Hours: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday-Sunday (closed Mondays).
Admission: $10 adults, $5 ages 2-17, $8 seniors ages 60+. Free for members and active-duty military*

Selected dates January-October, Train Rides are also offered from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The 15 to 20 minute ride aboard vintage railroad cars may be pulled by a variety locomotives. Our “Galloping Goose” rail car is not operating in 2020 because of social distancing concerns.

Service animals for our guests with special needs are always welcome and permitted in the Museum buildings and throughout the grounds.
