The Museum is open daily, year-round from 9:00AM-5:00PM (last admission is sold at 4:30PM).
During Polar Express Train Ride operations in November and December, the Museum will close to regular guests at 4:00PM.
Easter Sunday hours: 12:00PM-5:00PM
Thanksgiving Eve hours: 9:00AM-2:00PM
Closed: Thanksgiving Day, December 17, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
When temperatures exceed 95 degrees staff may close select rail cars that do not have appropriate ventilation.
Throughout the month of January, the Colorado Railroad Museum will be offering free General Admission to all federal employees and their immediate family members due to the current government shutdown. To receive free admission, employees must present a valid government issued identification at the Museum Admission Desk.

All tickets include access to Museum Exhibits, the Roundhouse Restoration Facility viewing gallery and our Railyard. General Admission does not cover the cost associated to Colorado Railroad Museum Events.

Guests are invited to enjoy our outdoor picnic area with our pavilion nestled under our spectacular Colorado Cottonwood trees. Pack your favorite picnic lunch and beverages, but do keep in mind we are an alcohol-free facility.

We offer a discount of 15% off regular admission prices for any adult group of 20 or more. Schedule your group and request a free volunteer tour guide by contacting Museum Guest Services at 303-279-4591 or online.
Disabled Individuals and Special Needs
General admission is $4 per guest and attendants are free. Advance notice is requested so that your visit may be accommodated.
$4 per child, ages 2-15. Advanced reservations are required for children’s groups and there is a maximum of 60 children per group. We require one adult supervisor for every seven children (ages 12 and up) and one supervisor for every five children (under 12). Supervisors receive free Museum admission.
Head Start groups pay only $0.75 per person; no other discounts apply. The ratio of one adult for every four children is necessary for adequate supervision. The group total is not to exceed 60 participants.
The Colorado Railroad Museum desires for every guest to have a memorable and pleasant experience. For special needs and accessibility parameters, please contact the Museum.

10 person minimum. Private photo shoots can be scheduled from 6am-9am or 5pm-8pm most weekdays.
Service animals for our guests with special needs are always welcome and permitted in the Museum buildings and throughout the grounds.
