Join Colorado Railroad Museum Storyteller Extraordinaire Scott King for Story Time as he reads some of his favorite, train-themed children’s stories online! This episode we are reading “The Coal Thief” by Alane Adams with illustrations by Lauren Gallegos.

After Story Time, join Colorado Railroad Museum Craft Master Roni Kramer for a step-by-step baking craft – Coal Cookies, inspired by the story, that you can complete at home!

Coal Cookies:
Ingredients: 4 TBSP Butter, 4 Cups Marshmallows, 39 Chocolate Sandwich Cookies.
Melt butter in a stovetop pan. Add marshmallows and stir until fully melted. Remove pan from heat, add crushed cookies and stir until well mixed. Form into small “chunks of coal” on a piece of parchment paper or a pan to cool before serving (although they are pretty tasty warm too)!
