It’s #ThrowbackThursday! In honor of today being an autumnal SCFD Free Day, we’re throwing it back to the beautiful fall colors that surrounded the Colorado Railroad Museum in fall 2024. The vibrant foliage around the grounds always makes this time of year extra special! 
In partnership with the Scientific & Cultural Facilities District (SCFD), the Colorado Railroad Museum is excited to offer free general admission to all visitors today, October 2! The Museum grounds and exhibits will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., as always. This is typically a very busy day at the Museum, so be sure to plan ahead and reserve your admission tickets online!
While you’re here, hop aboard an optional train ride behind a mighty diesel locomotive in vintage open-air or enclosed passenger cars. Train rides depart every half hour from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and are available for a small fee, subject to availability (advance reservations suggested – book them while reserving your admission!).The SCFD is a unique voter-approved funding model that uses a 0.1% sales and use tax to support nearly 300 arts, science, and cultural organizations across the seven-county Denver metro area. Thanks to this incredible public investment, organizations like the Colorado Railroad Museum can offer accessible programming, engaging educational experiences, and special events like this one—helping keep Colorado’s cultural community vibrant and within reach for all.
