Stall No. 1 – Denver & Rio Grande Steam Locomotive No. 491 (N)
Museum staff and volunteers are installing new starting valves on No. 491.
They are also fitting new cylinder jackets designed by Museum contractor Mark Huber.
Stall No. 2 – Denver & Rio Grande Western Steam Locomotive No. 346 (N)
Crews are putting No. 346 through her annual inspection. This invloves removing the steam dome lid, pressure gauges and water glasses and other components for testing.
They crew will also open the smoke box to remove the baffles and “punch” the flues.
Stall Nos. 3 and 4 – Uintah Combine Car No. 50 (N)
The Uintah Car project is currently occupying two roundhouse stalls. Crews a building new bolsters from scratch using rail and designs from Museum contractor Mark Huber.
The shop bought new wood working equipment that will be used to build new flooring in the baggage compartment.
They are also hanging a new brake rigging.
Stall No. 5 – Denver & Rio Grande Western Business Car No. B-8 (N)
Crews continue to install interior lamps as they return from plating.
