SPECIAL WEATHER ADVISORY

THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride

DECEMBER 21-23

Dear THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride ticket holders,

WEATHER ALERT!

Wednesday-Friday, December 21-23, temperatures in the greater Denver area are projected to be close to ZERO DEGREES FAHRENHEIT. Wind chills could take temperatures down by an additional 20+ degrees as well, and snow is possible at times. Scheduled performances of THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride will continue as planned, with a few additions for your comfort and safety.

PLEASE DRESS VERY WARMLY FOR YOUR VISIT

You will be outdoors at certain times during the experience, including as your party awaits the dramatic arrival of THE POLAR EXPRESS™ and your journey to the North Pole. We will have a special indoor “warming area” for those who would rather stay indoors. But we will also still offer the full (outdoor) experience as well, complete with our unique “Smokey & Steamer” song and dance routine as we await the arrival of our heated steam train (approximately 10 minutes, outdoors). Then we witness the dramatic arrival of THE POLAR EXPRESS™ and it’s “all aboard” for a unique theatrical journey to the North Pole!

REFUND POLICY

You purchased your THE POLAR EXPRESS™ event tickets with the understanding that there are no refunds. We will make an exception if you honor the following: If you are considering NOT attending because of the cold, we ask that you give us 24 hours’ notice so that others have the chance to purchase cancelled tickets to attend in your place. We will be happy to refund tickets with at least 24-hour advance notice, but we will not honor last-minute refund requests. Thank you for your understanding!

Other General Reminders

TICKETS

There are NO tickets to print out this year. Please double-check your email confirmation to verify the correct date and time for your experience. All we need is your party’s name when you check in!

ARRIVAL TIME

Please allow adequate travel time to the Museum. You don’t want to miss the show! We recommend you arrive 30 minutes prior to the showtime listed in your confirmation. This will allow you to check in, browse, and enjoy our live pre-show entertainment without missing a thing! The cabaret-style Main Show begins promptly at your listed showtime. This is when you’ll enjoy hot cocoa and cookies and the dramatic re-enactment of the story of The Polar Express. Your magical journey to the North Pole aboard The Polar Express™ follows.

HEALTH & SAFETY

Due to the need to keep our cast and crew free from COVID-19, we are using Plexiglas screens aboard trains for 2022. Masks are currently suggested (but not required) for guests whenever indoors. Should masking or other precautions be mandated by local, state and/or federal authorities aboard trains or indoors, we’ll follow their guidance and email all ticketed guests right away.

PARKING

Parking is on-site at the Colorado Railroad Museum, and it’s free! The Museum is located at 17155 W 44th Avenue, Golden CO 80403. When you arrive, look for the big white tent (straight ahead as you pull through our entry gate). Enter through the twinkle-lights archway with “PE” letters for check-in!
