Special Booksigning Engagement!

August 27, 2021 @ 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm

The Last Winter by author Frank Barry
Friday, August 27 – 2:30 p.m. – Colorado Railroad Museum

The Colorado Railroad Museum will host author Frank Berry the afternoon of Friday, August 27, for a special presentation and booksigning event. A brief presentation begins at 2:30 p.m., followed by booksigning. This one-time event is included with regular Museum admission.

The event will focus on Mr. Berry’s new book, The Last Winter, featuring a stunning collection of his black-and-white pictures taken in Chama, New Mexico in the winter of 1963-64 – the last time that steam engines hauled cargo long distance year-round in the U.S.

Frank Barry is a rail photographer and steam aficionado whose work has appeared in and on the cover of Trains magazine, and in other national publications such as Classic Trains, Railroad Heritage, and The Washington Post Magazine. Frank’s photos have been included in numerous books as well.

The 64-page hardcover book The Last Winter includes one of a kind, dramatic pictures of steam engines taken in the winter, the last year that steam ran year-round in the United States. It also features descriptions by the photographer of each picture, and some of his adventures in getting them.

Copies of the book will be available for sale at the event.
