Father’s Day Weekend
June 20, 2020 - June 21, 2020
Come on out Saturday and Sunday June 20th and 21st for a Father’s Day Celebration at the Colorado Railroad Museum. Both Saturday and Sunday we will be celebrating All Things Engine with the help of the Front Range Antique Power Association (FRAPA). Check out antique tractors, diesel motors, hit-and-miss engines, Model A and Model T cars and even a Firetruck. Take a ride in a socially distanced passenger car behind our diesel locomotive for a 15-minute tour around our 15 acre railyard. Enjoy great local food and concessions as well as steampunk vendors, caricature artists, and storytelling.
With over 100 narrow and standard gauge steam and diesel locomotives, passenger cars, cabooses HO Model Railroad and G-scale garden railway, the Colorado Railroad Museum is the place to be for Father’s Day Weekend.
Sunday, June 21st is also Member Appreciation Day—with all of the same entertainment AND a special members-only car added to the train plus behind-the-scenes tours of our Roundhouse exclusively for Museum members!
COVID-19 has certainly changed a lot about how we live our daily lives, but has not changed our commitment to preserving Colorado’s dynamic railroading heritage.
That being said, we will be hosting events a little differently at the museum, and ask you to bear with us. The museum will adhere to all city guidelines for such events, requiring all attendees to wear face masks, and enforcing distancing and capacity guidelines. A few things to know are below:
• If you’re attending the museum, you must have a face mask at all times. Masks are required in all enclosed spaces including our depot, restrooms, galleries, library and passenger cars.
• We will only be allowing a limited number of guests in the museum at a time, but never fear! That means less crowding, and more space for safety. We encourage you to purchase your timed entry tickets prior to the event.
• All in-person activities and train rides will be socially distanced: with 15 acres of railyard our venue has excellent COVID-19-appropriate space. We will require everyone to respect the social distancing barriers placed throughout the museum.
• If you feel unwell – stay home & get better!
