It’s #ThrowbackThursday at the Colorado Railroad Museum—and this week, we’re not just looking back… we’re celebrating! For the fourth year in a row, the Governor of Colorado has officially proclaimed Colorado Railroad Heritage Week—honoring the state’s deep and enduring connection to the iron horse. Colorado is one of the top two states in the nation for operating steam locomotives—18 are running today, with five more under restoration!
We’re home to: – The highest and longest steam railroad in the Western Hemisphere – The world’s highest cog railroad – And North America’s 4th longest railroad tunnel! You’ll find Galloping Geese, one of the largest model railroads in the U.S., and trains that starred in Hollywood hits like Indiana Jones, Butch Cassidy & Runaway! So this week, we invite you to ride an historic train, explore a heritage site, or just share your favorite Colorado rail memory. Let’s keep Colorado’s railroad spirit rolling—happy Colorado Railroad Heritage Week! #CORRHeritageWeek #musicbyHyce #RRMovieStars
