An Evening of Colorado History – Relax, enjoy a beverage and travel back to a time when railroads shaped the American West.
7:00 p.m. April 3, 2026: Hell on Wheels Uncovered with Riley Limbaugh
Join us for the first Colorado Rails & Cocktails of the 2026 as archaeology graduate student Riley Limbaugh explores the history of Julesburg III, the site of “Hell on Wheels” Julesburg and the only Colorado location along the Transcontinental Railroad. His presentation will examine Colorado’s role in the railroad, the region’s connection to the Pony Express, and how modern tools like GIS mapping and LiDAR are helping uncover the site’s past through ongoing fieldwork.
Admission: $20 ages 21+ only. Season Pass: $80 (Admission for all 4 Rails & Cocktails events in 2026)
Admission includes 2 beverages of your choice: beer, wine or soda and snacks. Doors open at 6 PM for early enjoyment of Museum displays and the presentation starts promptly at 7 PM. Presentation length varies by event and the doors close at 9:00PM. Minimum Age: 21
