It’s #TriviaTuesday and this week our questions is: what was engraved on the top of the ceremonial, 17.6 karat Golden Spike that was driven into the track on May 10th, 1869?

Why the focus on the Golden Spike? The Museum will be hosting the 43′ tall Golden Spike Monument next Tuesday, October 17, 2023 for a brief detour on it’s journey to the Golden Spike Park at Reeder Ranch in Brigham City, Utah. Join us on the 17th and celebrate with free admission and rides in a “Galloping Goose” Motorcar! Participants are invited to submit their responses as a comment or message!

Last Question: which real-life steam locomotive did author Chris Van Allsburg base the engine on in his classic holiday tale, “The Polar Express?” Answer: Pere Marquette 1225. A class “N-1” 2-8-4 “Berkshire” type steam locomotive built in December 1941.

Last video we received 20 correct responses! Our winner is Michael Mrozek who responded on Facebook!
