Hey everyone, it’s #TBT, and for #ThrowbackThursday we’re taking you back to October 2002 when the Colorado Railroad Museum hosted its first-ever #DayOutWithThomas event. Recently, we’ve digitized a special slide from that memorable day.
But here’s the really cool part – if you’re an eagle-eyed viewer (first spotted by the then Museum Grounds Manager), you might’ve spotted something extraordinary in the background. That very caboose made a surprise appearance in the 2016 Marvel film, Ant-Man! In just one frame, you can clearly see the lettering for Denver & Rio Grande Caboose No. 49. It’s a little piece of our history on the #bigscreen.
And here’s an exciting announcement for all you Marvel fans out there: during our Harvest Haunt Express event next month, we’re inviting you to visit the Museum in your favorite Marvel costumes! Strike a pose with the caboose for a photo opportunity you won’t want to miss. Share your pics using #MarvelAtTheMuseum, and who knows, you might just find yourself in our next video!
This discovery has us convinced that someone from the Marvel team must have paid a visit to our museum and met Thomas himself! Isn’t that fascinating?
Do you have any home movies or photographs that feature the Colorado Railroad Museum, The Museum’s equipment or Colorado Railroads in general? We’d love to share them! Contact the Colorado Railroad Museum at info@crrm.org!
