It’s #TBT at the Colorado Railroad Museum and for Throwback Thursday this week we have a selection of black and white negatives recently scanned by photographer George Lawrence. George was on-hand in the late 1970s to capture D&RGW Steam Locomotive No. 318 under steam – a rare occurance. Included in the same collection are images of No. 318 after the locomotive was taken out of “operation.”

Want to know more about Denver & Rio Grande Western No. 318? Watch our episodes of Big Train Tours on the Locomotive’s history here.

Do you have any home movies or photographs that feature the Colorado Railroad Museum, The Museum’s equipment or Colorado Railroads in general? We’d love to share them! Contact the Colorado Railroad Museum’s Multimedia Coordinator Matthew Isaacks at info@crrm.org!
