Join the staff and volunteers of the Colorado Railroad Museum in-person on the THIRD TUESDAY each month as they share some of their favorite children’s stories (with a decidedly railroad theme) followed by a fun “make-and-take” craft! Recommended ages 4-6 years old. Included with General Admission

This one of a kind tour takes you on a trip throughout the Museum’s rail yard inspired by some of the best of children’s literature! Railroad themed, of course. The Little Engine That Could, the Little Red Caboose and of course, Donald Crews’ Freight Train provide the suitable inspiration for this adventure at the Colorado Railroad Museum.

Enjoy Train Rides, pop-up exhibits, a craft project, and a host of other special activities and demonstrations. It’s a week of hands-on activities related to the railroad and those connected with it. Mark your calendars now for March 18-21, 2025!
All Aboard for Spring Break at The Colorado Railroad Museum! Enjoy Train Rides, pop-up exhibits, a craft project, and a host of other special activities and demonstrations. This year’s Spring Break theme is coal, celebrating Colorado’s rich railroad and mining history. It’s a week of hands-on activities related to the railroad and those connected with it.
Activities and demonstrations take place each day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Train Rides will depart every half-hour from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
During Spring Break be sure to check out the Museum’s latest exhibit, “Black Diamonds and Steel Rails,” now open in the Upper Gallery! Explore the vital role coal played in powering locomotives, driving industrial growth, and shaping Colorado’s railroads. See how this resource connected communities through engaging artifacts, photographs, and informative displays.
