Harvest Haunt & Member Appreciation Day
The Colorado Railroad Museum’s annual Halloween-themed steam-up event is back for 2021! Grounds are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with activities taking place between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., including train rides. Guests are encouraged to come in costume for Trick-or-Treating!
Enjoy the Olde Railroaders Silly Graveyard, “not-so-spooky” Haunted Railcars, a hay bale maze, and musical ensembles performing throughout the day in our outdoor pavilion. Bring your camera, and get a great picture of your group’s costumes in front of the Pumpkin Patch cart. Tasty treats and lunchtime food options will be available for purchase.
An authentic, coal burning Colorado steam locomotive will pull trains for this event. Regular admission and train ride pricing applies. Capacity is limited, so advance ticket purchase is recommended.
10am-11:30am: The Altaira Flute Ensemble – this bewitching quartet has traded in their magic wands for a variety of flutes with plans to entertain you by playing such Hallowe’en favorites as “Nightmare Before Christmas”, “The Great Pumpkin Waltz”, “Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo” and many other recognizable childhood melodies. You’ll be humming all the way home!
11:45am-1:15pm: The MHCB Jazz Combo – under the direction of Jeff Miguel, this toe-tapping troupe of savvy jazz musicians will delight you with a variety of upbeat tunes from Gershwin to Gillespie. You’re guaranteed to walk away with a song in your heart and a bounce in your step after listening to these performers!
Museum Admission: $10 adults, $5 ages 2-17, $8 seniors ages 60+, under age 2 and Museum members free.
Train Rides: $4 adults and seniors, $2 ages 2-17, under age 2 and Museum members ride free. Capacity is limited, so advance ticket purchase is recommended.
