It’s #TBT (Throwback Thursday)!

Today we have home movie footage from Museum volunteer George Lawrence. George, still an active volunteer, often filmed at the Museum in the mid-70s on a handheld 8mm camera.

This week we are sharing footage of Denver & Rio Grande Western Steam Locomotive No. 346 operating around the Museum grounds in the shadow of North Table Mountain. This footage shows the locomotive lettered for Museum founder Robert W. Richardson’s railroad, the Golden City & San Juan! Enjoy this trip back in time before the Museum had a full loop of track!

Do you have any “home movies” that feature the Colorado Railroad Museum or Colorado Railroads and you’d like to share it? Contact the Museum’s Multimedia Coordinator Matthew Isaacks at matthew@crrm.org In 2021 the Museum is operating socially distanced train rides each Saturday!
