Welcome to another Big Train Tour at the Colorado Railroad Museum! This month, we’re covering the largest of three “Galloping Goose” motorcars displayed at the Museum, all once owned and operated by southwest Colorado’s Rio Grande Southern railroad.

Our subject for this episode, like most of its siblings, was built to haul the U.S. Mail, freight, and occasional passengers along this remote and rugged railroad’s route. Today, “Galloping Goose” number 7 is proudly displayed at the Museum, with a unique history to share!
