Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Locomotive No. 5629 Donation available online
In early 1963, the Intermountain Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society began negotiations with Chicago Burlington & Quincy (CB&Q), and on August 30, 1963, CB&Q Vice President J.J. Alms presented No. 5629 to the Colorado Railroad Museum.
Today, No. 5629 is one of only four Burlington locomotives of the O-5 class still in existence.
It takes a significant amount of time and money to preserve and care for the great No. 5629 and the rest of our rolling stock. We invite you to partner with us to keep these great pieces of Colorado history alive.
We’ve created a number of unique opportunities through which your financial contributions can be recognized and celebrated.
