The Colorado Railroad Museum is located 12 miles west of downtown Denver. Take Exit 265 off of I-70 on to Colorado Highway 58 and follow the signs.

For visitors wishing to travel via public transit, on non-holiday weekdays it is possible to travel from Denver (Civic Center Station) to downtown Golden via the 16 or 16L, and from downtown Golden to the Colorado Railroad Museum via the 17. We recommend making the transfer from the 16 to 17 at 10th and Washington (Denver to Golden) and Ford and 13th (Golden to Denver). Please note that the 17 only runs on weekdays; on weekends, the leg from downtown Golden to the Colorado Railroad Museum will require a taxi ride, bike, or walk of app. 1.9 miles.
