The 2014 Colorado Railroad Museum Calendar
Our 13 month 2014 Calendar features more than 20 oil paintings, watercolors and drawings from the R. W. Richardson Library’s Otto Kuhler Collection.
About the artist:
Otto August Kuhler (1894-1977), is perhaps most widely-known for his pioneering work in industrial design, particularly for applying Art Deco elements to railroad equipment. His life’s story, however, held other adventures as well. He reinvented himself many times, becoming a commercial artist, rail designer and consultant,. Colorado rancher, and painter who captured Colorado’s scenery and rail history. Otto Kuhler’s legacy is a broad one – he was a forward thinking railroad designer and a chronicler of the Colorado and Southwest landscape and it’s rich narrow gauge history. His works are a treasured part of the Colorado Railroad Museum.
About the Archives:
The Colorado Railroad Museum’s Robert W. Richardson Railroad Library, home to a wide variety of resources focusing primarily on railroading in the Rocky Mountain region and the American West, is open to the public.
