DESCRIPTION:To celebrate our partnership with the SCFD (Scientific and Cultural Facilities District) the Museum is proud to offer free general admission to all visitors select Thursdays throughout the year. \nCatch an optional train ride behind a Diesel Engine\, inside vintage passenger cars! Grounds & exhibits open 9am to 5pm. Rides operate 10am to 3pm \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n\nAdmission: Free. \n\nDue to the growing popularity of SCFD Free Days at the Colorado Railroad Museum\, all tickets for these dates must be reserved online in advance. In 2025\, the Museum was overwhelmed with guests arriving in the early morning for SCFD Free Days. Entry lines were long\, many train rides were delayed\, and the parking lot briefly overflowed as well. \nRequiring advance reservations for these popular events will help the Museum prevent long lines\, ensure parking availability\, and reduce entry delays by spreading crowds throughout the day. Museum Admission will\, of course\, remain free for all advance registrants on SCFD Free Days. Train Ride tickets will also continue to be available for advance purchase on SCFD Free Days\, for a nominal fee. \nThe Colorado Railroad Museum remains committed to being an accessible destination for visitors from all seven SCFD counties to learn about the rich history of railroading in the Rocky Mountain region. Our goal remains simple: To preserve and share Colorado’s rich railroad heritage for generations to come.
